Common Questions
How is it different from the Hurricane?
The Typhoon is the bigger tub. It seats 6 to the Hurricane's 5, runs 50 jets to 40, and holds 449 gallons to 297. It also runs two filters instead of one. Both share the foot dome, volcano jet, waterfall, and 4HP pumps.
How is it delivered?
By freight, in a crate, curbside. The carrier calls to schedule and unloads at the end of your driveway or the nearest accessible point. Moving it to the slab is your responsibility, so plan help or a spa moving service. On its side it measures 39", which leaves about an inch in a standard 40" gate. Measure your route before ordering.
What electrical work is needed?
A dedicated 240V, 60 amp GFCI circuit with 4 wire #6 AWG copper, hardwired by a licensed electrician. Runs over 75 feet may need heavier wire. Sunbelt states improper wiring voids the warranty, so have this done before delivery.
What foundation does it need?
Sunbelt recommends a 4" concrete slab with 3/8" rebar on a 16" grid. Any other foundation should be approved by a qualified contractor or engineer. Decks must support at least 95 lbs per square foot. Leave 38" of clearance on the equipment side and 24" around the rest.
What does it cost to run?
At 5.5kW and the national average electricity rate, the heater costs roughly $1.00 per hour at full draw. A covered tub heats in short cycles, so your monthly cost depends on climate, use, and your local rate.
How do I care for the water?
Ozone, a minerals feeder, and two 50 sq ft filters handle much of the daily work. You'll still test and balance the water and rinse the filters on a schedule. The Quick Start Guide below covers it.
Can I return it?
No. Each Typhoon is built to order, so it can't be cancelled, returned, or exchanged once production starts. Issues after delivery go through Sunbelt's warranty. Please review the warranty below before ordering.

About This Hot Tub
The Typhoon is the largest model in Sunbelt's Storm Series. It seats 6 adults with one lounger and holds about 449 gallons.
Fifty blaster jets run on two 4HP two speed pumps, and a volcano jet sits at the center of the foot dome. Two 50 sq ft filters share the load.
Sunbelt builds it to order in Texas. You choose the shell and cabinet colors, and it ships 9 to 11 weeks after you order. Before delivery you'll need a dedicated 60 amp GFCI circuit, a reinforced slab, and a clear path at least 40" wide.
