Common Questions
Which of the four barrels is right for me?
All four share the same barrel: 86.61" wide and 88.98" tall. What changes is length, and how much of it goes to a terrace. Interior lengths are Helsinki 51.18" (4 people, terrace), Tampere 62.99" (4 people), Turku 74.80" (6 people, terrace), and Vassa 86.61" (6 people). The Helsinki trades interior length for a terrace.
How is it delivered?
By truck. The truck needs to reach your unloading area, so check access before delivery day. Count the parts against the parts list when it arrives, and call us within 14 days if anything is missing.
What electrical work is needed?
The 8kW heater is hardwired by a qualified electrician. Confirm the circuit with us before ordering so your electrician knows what to prepare.
What foundation does it need?
A flat, load bearing concrete slab or strip foundation. The sauna must be anchored to it, since strong winds can move it. The manufacturer recommends having the foundation laid by a specialist.
How hard is assembly?
Every part is cut to size at the factory, with a step by step guide. Plan on two people and basic tools: a cordless screwdriver, a drill, a level, and a mallet.
How do I care for the wood?
Stain or paint the outside to protect it, and leave the inside untreated. The barrel isn't fully watertight in heavy rain. Drain holes in the bottom stave let water out, and heating it up after rain dries it.
What does it cost to run?
At 8kW and the national average electricity rate, roughly $1.45 per hour at full draw.

About This Sauna
The Helsinki is the 4-person barrel with a terrace, built into the same 70.87 inch length as the Tampere. The terrace takes about a foot of interior length and gives you a spot to cool down right outside the door.
It's built from Northern European spruce with an 8kW Harvia Spirit heater you control from your phone. A rain jacket roof cover comes with it.
It assembles on site. Before delivery, plan for a level, load bearing foundation, an electrician for the heater, and a second person for assembly.

Shipping Policy
Free shipping on every order within the 48 contiguous states. Finnish Barrel Saunas are built to order and ship as a crated, prefabricated kit by freight. Your lead time is confirmed by email after you order.
The carrier will call you to schedule a delivery appointment. Delivery includes liftgate service to the curb, and the driver does not move the crate onto your property. If your crate is longer than 92 inches, it can't be lowered by a standard liftgate, and you'll need a team of two or more people, a moving company, or lifting equipment to unload it. Delivery requires road access for a school bus sized truck.
Please be available to receive your delivery within 48 hours of the carrier's call. Missed delivery windows can result in storage fees of $100 per day.

Return and Refund Policy
Finnish Barrel Saunas are built to order.
Within 24 hours of purchase: orders can be cancelled for a refund minus a 3% payment processing fee.
After 24 hours and before shipment: cancellations carry a fee of 35% of the purchase price, plus the 3% payment processing fee.
After shipment: orders cannot be cancelled, returned, or refunded. Used or installed saunas cannot be returned.
Inspect your delivery before signing. Note any visible damage or missing items on the delivery receipt. Report concealed damage found when unpacking within 72 hours of delivery, with photos, to support@forgerecoverygroup.com or 760.840.5141. We'll arrange replacement of damaged or missing parts. Claims made after 72 hours cannot be accepted.
